AUDITIONS
Pop A Cappella Auditions
Open to all current 5th - 11th graders
Brandon Vocal Arts has 3 elite, pop a cappella ensembles. There are 2 groups at Brandon High School and 1 at Brandon Middle School. Each group brings their own sound and presentation to the stage. As a member of these groups, you will be challenged musically. However, you will also create a community within BMS and BHS that values you and helps you grow as a person. We travel as a group so you will get to meet other people from all over the nation who enjoy this style of performing. You will also get the opportunity to meet with different colleges; there's scholarships to be earned in pop a cappella whether you want to major in music or not. We compete on an international level, and we yearly release music on Spotify. If you are interested in any of the above, please join us for auditions and see what we're all about!

High Schoolers, you must be at both rounds of auditions. No exceptions.
Thursday, April 17th's audition will consist of a one-on-one audition. You will need to prepare 30-45 seconds of a song that shows off your voice. This will be done a cappella, no backing track. You will then do a few vocal exercises with Ms. Arcemont where she can get a better feel for your voice.

Thursday, April 24th's audition will consist of you learning an a cappella song before the audition. It is listed below with sheet music and recordings for each voice part. There's also a full demo with every voice part and performance tracks with your selected part taken out so you can practice it once you're more confident. You may pick whichever voice part you prefer. You are responsible for walking into this audition knowing your part. You do not have to know it by memory, but you need to be able to sing it by yourself. You won't have to sing it as a solo, but you will have to hold your own part in a small group. For anyone needing help learning it, you are welcome to come to zero block. A Day zero block I am at the middle school; B Day zero block I am at the high school.
